The American Civil Liberties Union-Live updates says Trump administration

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)-one of the largest civil rights organizations in the country-issued a statement criticizing the president’s publications to social media that threatens to end the vote on the mail and end the use of voting machines. They consider its attacks “Part of his strategy to cultivate the lack of confidence in our elections and prevent voters from holding it accountable.”

Here is the full statement issued by Sofia Lynn Lenkin, director of the voting rights project of the American Civil Liberties Union:

“The vote is still mail Biblical protection from our democracy. It guarantees that voters with disabilities, those who do not have access to transportation, and others who depend on its elasticity and access can exercise their right to vote. President Trump’s attempts to undermine a safe, proven and reliable way to vote – which he himself uses – besides his attacks on voting technology, is just another part of his strategy to increase the lack of confidence in our elections and prevent voters from holding it accountable. We are ready to protect the vote on the court in court against unfounded and unconstitutional attacks, as we did in Pennsylvania, Mississippi, and other states. Access to voting via mail is necessary for a fair and comprehensive electoral process. “
