Excel has a new way to explain the formulas for you

summary

Many of the features of artificial intelligence are unnecessary and sometimes invasive. But many can actually be really useful. Many Copilot features are many tricks, but one of the most beneficial is much easier to reach.

Excel is launched a new feature (or type of new) called Exply Formula. This new feature combines an explanation tool supported by artificial intelligence directly into the Excel network, which can always be accessed by right -clicking. Previously, if you encounter a complex or unfamiliar formula, you will either need to automate it manually, consult external documents, or use a separate auxiliary part. Or, God forbid, Google. The “explanation of the formula” feature makes this easier by providing step -by -step collapse of what the formula does, next to the defined cell.

This is very useful because the contextual nature of interpretations. It does not give you just a regular explanation of what the formula does or how it works. Copilot, which is of course Chatbot, which operates this, analyzes the specific formula in case of actual use, as it indicates cells and data ranges participating in the account. In this way, you can learn what the formula does using the data in the paper.

When selecting a cell containing a formula, all you have to do is click the right mouse on the cell and choose the option of “explaining this formula”. From there, a pop -up window will appear, analyze the formula and give you the diligent on what you do and how it works. However, if the main Copilot chat part is already open, the interpretation will be presented there instead to maintain a fixed user interface. For those who want to explore the formula more or ask follow -up questions, the “chat with Copilot” option is available, which moves the conversation to the most comprehensive side part of a deeper dialogue.

This is not exactly a new feature. Using a Copilot side part, you can always ask questions about the entire paper, including explaining a formula if you want to do so. However, this makes it easier, even if you do not use the aforementioned sideboard often – I personally close it always when I do not use it, and if you need this feature, this will be easier to right -click with the right mouse and choose a button inside a list of opening the side plate again and write my order manually.

If you want to check it, Microsoft says this is slowly put forward to everyone, so watch out soon.
